Hello friends! I’ve been a bit under the weather this week, hence the lack of a blog update yesterday. How was your weekend? I’ve been craving an oyster happy hour for some time now, so on Friday, Jon and I went to Maison Premiere in Williamsburg for one of the yummiest happy hours of my life! We each ate a dozen different oysters (only $1/ea) and some delicious artisan bread with seaweed butter. On Sunday, we went out for brunch with Jon’s brothers and I ate Green Eggs & Ham! We also celebrated my best friend’s new job with tacos and margaritas in Long Island City. The rest of the time was spent snuggling on the couch with my husband and dog. We watched Melancholia and ate homemade pretzel rolls with mustard (more on that tomorrow!)
Anyway, guess what? There are only EIGHT days until Spring! This has been such a cold, dreary winter in NYC and I’ve been finding myself daydreaming of lush green spaces and backyards quite often lately. I love the city, I do, but sometimes I want a green oasis all my own. A place to build a teepee, host a movie night, drink iced tea, or read a book under a big pink tree. We have a communal backyard in Brooklyn that we share with the rest of our neighbors, and we do the best with what we have, but it’s not exactly the same! I want more grass, trees, flowers, sunlight and adventure. One day! In the meantime, I’ll just keep pinning photos for inspiration.
