I’m a Tennessee native who was taught early on by my grandmother the importance of a good pineapple upside-down cake. I’ve spent a few years working in and out of bakeries and in 2013 I put on my apron to pursue my passion for baking as a career.
I’ve always been the Cake Girl among my friends. No birthday or anniversary is complete without a beautiful handmade cake, and I always deliver. When my then-fiancé and I were planning our wedding in 2012, I struggled to find a cake that was affordable and that we could count on to taste as good as it looked. Some people will settle for any cake as long as it looks great, but we wanted to be sure it would taste great too. So I turned to the only baker I could trust, and decided to make it myself! I took the red velvet cake recipe handed down to me by my grandmother, and I made the biggest cake I’d ever made before. It was a hit. To this day many of our friends still say it was the best wedding cake they’ve ever had.
This is the DIY spirit that I bring to Saylormade. I’ve been there. Not every couple has the capacity or the time, or the desire to make their own wedding cake, but this is your big day, you want to know the person making your cake cares about it just as much as you do, and you don’t want to spend a fortune. That’s why I’m here to help.
A Saylormade cake is beautifully crafted with all-natural ingredients and heirloom recipes. It’s a cake you can trust to taste as delightful as it looks. Take a look around the site for more info and contact me when you’re ready. I’d love to talk with you about your vision for your big day and make sure you get the cake of your dreams.
